Time is free... Scherzer-Kershaw, the third Cy Young Award, is now looking for a job in the FA market

Time is numbered. Pitchers Max Scherzer (41) and Clayton Kershaw (37), who dominated the Major League Baseball in the 2010s, have hardly found a new team in the free agent market. Both players are candidates for the Hall of Fame, a three-time winner of the Cy Young Award, but it is uncertain what kind of uniform they will wear this year.안전놀이터

The biggest reason is poor performance. Scherzer, who played in more than 200 innings for six consecutive seasons between 2013 and 2018, had only two wins, four losses and an earned run average of 3.95 in nine games due to back surgery last year. Atlanta and Toronto are reportedly interested in recruiting him, while chances are low that he will remain in his Texas team.

The key is the size of the contract. Veteran pitcher Justin Verlander (42), who is also a three-time Cy Young Award winner, signed an FA contract with San Francisco for 15 million U.S. dollars for a year on Tuesday. Verlander, who is one year older than Scherzer, played in 17 games (5 wins, 6 losses, 5.48 ERA) last season.

Kershaw, a left-handed pitcher who represents the symbol of the Los Angeles Dodgers, is putting more weight on his team to stay. Last year, Kershaw had the worst performance since his debut in 2008 due to shoulder pain and other reasons. He was not listed on the World Series roster. Considering that he is a franchise star, the Dodgers is apparently focusing on recruiting Sasaki (24), a Japanese pitcher who has already announced his entry into the U.S.A. Walker Buehler (31), who was considered the ace pitcher of the Dodgers since Kershaw, also moved to Boston as an FA in December last year. If the negotiations fail, Kershaw could move to his hometown team of Texas or Houston.
